This silver thimble-is marked CH Dorcas 7 it is decorated a grid with faceted centres and it has a 5mm plain band at the bottom
Vintage "DORCAS" thimble by, Charles Horner of Northgate, Halifax. This thimble was manufactured between1905 - 1948. Except for a good clean, the thimble is in excellent condition. It comes with no needle holes, dents or distortions. It is still in the round. It is marked, CH 7 DORCAS. Seven is the size number. This is a steel cored thimble with two layers of Silver cladding. They were patented in 1885 by Charles Horner of Halifax. Patt. No. 8954 reg. 1884. They were produced for the professional needle work trade during the reign of Victoria.
